My dad came home a couple weeks ago from Iraq, so I took my cat into my arms and helped her get used to him, opened up my room so she had a place to sleep, I took care of her. She's used to my dad again, but follows me everywhere, I can't go to the bathroom without her Yelling outside the closed door. Is there any way to wean her onto the rest of the family so I don't have to be her constant attention?

my cats do this constantly. in fact I don't think i can visit the bathroom without them.
She might just need reassurance from you. To her, there's a stranger in the house (your dad) and she needs to know from you it's okay.
Try to ignore her a bit(i know it's hard) and encourage other members of your family to play with and pet her. She should warm up to them soon

I had to chuckle at this one because my cat does the same thing. When I first got him as a kitten, he wouldn't let me out of his sight! If I went into the bathroom, he would drag his paws under the door and try to open it. Then he would just meow continuously outside the door if it were closed all the way. It drove me crazy but now, I am used to it. Since he has gotten older, he doesn't do it as much. Instead, he'll sit quietly right outside the door.....well, that is for a little while:)

I have exactly the same problem! I tamed a feral kitten - he now apparently thinks I'm his mother. He walks between my feet, constantly tripping me. He has to sleep touching me, purrs like a freight train and is just generally annoying!

Whenever I go out of town on a job Stimpy will "swamp" me with attention and will claw at my leg to prevent me from leaving. Its flattering and annoying, but we get back to normal fairly quick. Have patients and Merry Christmas. Welcome back dad!
