Crunches and situps are great, but it isn't enough. Be sure to do about 20 minutes of cardio along with your ab workout 3 to 4 times a week.
The cardio needs to go along with the ab workout: 1) it makes your ab workout more effective 2) you have to trim down your excess fat all over your body to see the nice tone in a certain part of your body.
And as to 3 to 4 times a week...this is necessary, because when you're working your muscles rigorously, you have to give them a break before your next workout. Otherwise, you will damage them and they will not build up nearly as quickly. A friend of mine who went into Nation Guard actually did his own variation by doing virgorous workouts five days a week and then resting for this weekend. It worked very well for him. Just make sure that rest is in there!
Now in addition are some obvious things, if you want to build your muscles, drink 8 to 12 cups water a day, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and avoid the junk. A healthier body makes for better toned muscles.
Some great exercises for your abs can be found at the website I have listed in sources.
Good luck!!

I wish it was as easy as "sit ups"
First, you may not have the genes to have one. Some people have have more layers of fat (this has nothing to do with diet) than others. Therefore you could have a great six pack right now, however no one will ever see it.
But if you work hard at your training and on your diet, there is hope.

I am a thirteen 12 months ancient lady, with round a two percent? Almost 4ish or 6? (Gymnastics.) It's not possible to have an eight percent, considering the fact that there are most effective 6 abdonimonal muscular tissues to your belly. :)

You can not get a six pack until you are twenty one. At that time all you have to do is go to any liquor store and you can buy a six pack of any brand of beer you choose.

Put your feet up on your couch while laying on the floor, and doing your crunches that way. If you do a hundred a day, twenty per set, while cutting out the fatty foods, you will see great results.

Cardiovascular exercise in order to burn fat across your body, coupled with core exercises that focus on your abdominal muscles. It's not easy and should be part of a full-body workout exercise routine.

The best way to burn fat off your abdominals is to do a lot of cardio traning. It is actually more helpful and you burn more fat than if you were to do crunches and excecises of that sort.

Assuming you're 18, just swagger on down to the local bottle-o and your friendly attendant will fix you up.
Grab me one while you're there, eh?
