This morning I was taking an exam and did not have breakfast before I took it so my stomach began to growl. It was really loud and happened about 3 times till finally I asked God "If you make my stomach stop growling I will place my faith in you" because lately I do not have the catholic faith anymore after so horrible things I have experienced. Well about 3 minutes later maybe 4 my stomach began to growl but after that for about the last 40 minutes of the exam it did not growl again. Was this a sign? Should I place my faith in God and believe that there really is a God?

I would just like to say before I had some rough things happen in my life like my friends father passing and recently my best friends grandma who raised her passing away I was a devoted catholic and went to church every sunday and attended sunday school and made my confirmation. I just don't see how someone could make such awful things happen like my friends grandma suffering from the disease ALS and me being diagnosted with Crohns disease. I mean if there truely is a God then why would he want to put people through so much pain?

Put your faith in God always!

God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)

Yes, stomach growls or not, you should make Jesus the Lord of your life. Just coming out of the Catholic church, I wouldn't get into a major denomination, try a Non Denominational church. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Don't wait, Check in the telephone book to find one tonight.

your stomach growling or not you should always put your faith in God, maybe it was a sign and maybe it was not. I went through the same experience as you did as far as believing in God or not. you see... I'm Catholic myself and I lost my mother to cancer 2 yrs ago and I used to pray day and night for her to get bettter but she didn't and she ended up leaving us. so I had lots of questions of why me or why her. I felt like God had betrayed me. but then I realized that she is in a better place then we are because she suffered too much and I experienced that when God takes someone away from us he returns the favor in a different way and Im' just started to get back to praying and trying to get close to him its hard but you just have to believe and put your faith into him and he will guide you to the right direction. Just have faith in him and he will light your way to happiness and whatever you have done wrong just pray to him for forgiveness and he will forgive you. The best thing I can tell you is to be strong and have faith in him and he will light the way for you.

I don't think you can make a decision about that by the growling of your stomach, but I do heartily that you should place your faith in God and his Son Jesus Christ. It's one thing to say you believe in God, but Jesus said that he is "the way the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father, except through me." I want you to know, that life with Christ is far better than without. Yeah, maybe God did stop your stomach for a reason. The Bible says that God chooses and wishes us all to be his children who follow him. I know that if you truly follow Jesus and make Him Lord over your life, than He will give you a blessed life. Catholicism teaches you to pray to Mary, says a few hail mary's, and confess, and you will get to heaven. Jesus is the only way to heaven. There is no purgatory. Only heaven and hell. I hope and pray, you place your faith in Jesus Christ to save you, and one day in heave, we may meet. If you have any questions for me feel free to email. May God guide you.

no matter what you think god was there and he heard you ask him about your stomach i do believe you should try putting your faith back into him because he was there when you were taking your exam and he came through when you asked him for help and god is with me right now while i write the answer to this question so go for it you have to keep your faith and he will be there when you need him the most no matter what.

I really don't think it was a sign. It is never a good idea to bargain with God.

God is always faithful, and will keep that which committed to Him, including your Soul. Give your life to Him, accept Jesus as your Savior, and find a Bible Believing Church, I always recommend The Church Of God, only because that is my Church. You will never regret it.

it's all up to you- no one can tell you to keep faith but yourself. I don't think god responds to tests like that- faith is supposed to be blind. when i feel like losing faith because i feel like i have it "so bad" or my life stinks- i visualize all of the people that truly have it bad- the starving and cold, the diseased and abused- wait, i actually ahve it pretty darn good! instead of asking for proof- pray for those that need help the most- and volunteer your time helping better their lives.

I know how you feel- i've had 2 relatives commit suicide recently due to schizophrenia, and i also have crohns disease celiac sprue, and thyroid problems. But that's just the part life has to play for me- i still enjoy it every minute that i am alive- there is wonder and discovery in all things.

Your stomach growling has nothing to do with God, and you shouldn't temp God like that. You have to be willing to trust God without any reservations. This is true faith.

You should definitely place your faith in god with this kind of concrete evidence. But the person sitting next to you who was praying that your stomach would get louder because they thought it was so funny, should abandon her faith because clearly god does not exist for her...
