Not sure...all the reports I see...not from the news, but from reliable sources..IEDs account for most of the deaths and woundings...Most of the insergents do not want to fight us up close...and a sniper can be found real easily after he shoots the first time...they would rather call a cell phone from several miles away...they are cowards...CNN might now how many are killed by snipers...they have the videos...

One of the men in the video was captured, but much of the filming is a mix of past wars in different areas. The number of U.S. killed by sniper fire is light. 1/3 were killed by accidents that could have happened anywhere and most were killed by IEDs.
This artical says that you won't get a number.

The number might not be known, because if a guy uses an AK-47 without a sight is he a sniper? Can a sniper use a pistol?

It is impossible to establish how EVERY Service member (Soldier) has died in Iraq... be it roadside bomb / sniper / suicide attack / small arms files etc.

All that Solider becomes is another statistic !

The only figure that is known is the TOTAL number of servicemen killed in Iraq - even then, this figure varies from one source to another!

From an Insurgent perspective - they are cowards, ok there are alot of videos that they make, showing them attempting to kill US/English Soldiers, but how many of these are close range combat? NONE!

They basically sit behind a bush for 4 hours, from a half mile distance (of the road), waiting for a convoy to pass then they press the button!!! Wow - how brave/sophisticated are you!

Big shout out to all those Servicemen serving in Iraq !

That is not known at this time. Call CNN, they might know.

it's easier for them to be killed by roadside explosives (IED's).
