Try Aveeno, it's outmeal based and works really well for my daughter.

Use an unscented butter, such a cocoa, shea, or almond. Using a mosturizer means that the product usually has glycerin in it. Glycerin is a humectant and if there is not enough moisture in the air, then it will pull the moisture from your skin. You need to rotate for a facial cream or lotion at least three times within a calendar year, so your skin doesn't get to that point typically changing with the seasons works.

For example, a light facial lotion with slight glycerin content for spring and fall, a facial cream with a larger glycerin content for summer, and a light unscented butter for winter.

I have a similar problem and because I live in the west and a desert, I have major problems because the humidity is always lower in the winter no matter where you live.

make sure the cleanser you are using isnt drying out your skin.

After you cleanse, exfoliate with a mild one you can use every other day, moisturize as soon as you are out of the shower. Before you go to bed, use a heavier cream to lock it all in. I prefer all the Mary Kay face products (I also have super dry skin and it's the only thing that has EVER worked for me) Mary Kay makes an intense moisture cream that you can use at night and during the day when your skin is really really dry. It's about $30 but it's totally worth it!

I use St. Ives Apricot facial cleanser and instead of using a moisturizer (basically because the cleanser has moisturizer in it) I use lotion after i cleanse my face. Suave has one that is called Skin Therapy Natural Oatmeal Moisturizer and it is dermatologist tested. It says it moisturizes to relieve and protect it last for 24 hours that is a whole day and it fights the cycle of dryness, it cost about 3.50 i got it from Family Dollar but it works i had dry itchy and flaky skin this solved my problem and it feels so good on your skin. Another option is to find a body scrub like Victoria's secret to gt rid of the dry dead skin and finish with their body lotion or body butter. These are products that i use all the time and my skin is so soft.

I have this condition as well as my dad and only in the winter. I am a Avon representative so I started using Avon products on my face the Anew retroactive products I love the 2 n one cleanser. I corrected the dry itchy skin on my face overnight it was amazing how well the products worked. For the body I use the Avon body washes they work great and moisture therapy intensive care is a great moisturizer. I have that problem too. I started getting facial done once a month in winter time to help clear out, then super moisturize skin. In between I use a very mild, non-foaming soap and moisturize before bed, then again after shower in morning. Also, avoiding caffeine and drinking lots of water eases it somewhat.

Equal parts of salt and mayonaise. Rub on face, hands, legs, to exfoliate, then wash with soap and water. You'll love the way your skin feels, and won't smell funny.

for me, i make sure that i do the following:

- dont use too much soap, dont wash your hands too often
- use plenty of moisturizer. try different types. some work better than others. for me, the CVS brand that has cucumber extract in it worked just fine, and its cheap
- drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
