to give me a tan, that will last a while and is not hard to apply? I know there are lotions and spray's out there but I have always been afraid they would turn me orange or put spots on my skin.

Also I am afraid to try a tanning bed, because as a child I use to get freckles and burn realy bad, would I be able to lay in a tanning bed?

A tanning bed works really nicely. I have fair skin and I burn really easily, but a really good tanning bed will produce great results without burning you. The better ones are more expensive than others. For fair skin, go with the better, more expensive bed - it produces better results for light-skinned people. Do it gradually, over 5 to 10 sessions, starting with the lowest level first. I usually start off with only 4 or 5 minutes on the lowest setting and then gradually up it. I'm able to get to about 7 minutes max (although my husband can do 10-12 minutes with no problem). If it gets to be too much, you can always stop the session anyway.

Try Jergens "natural glow" or the CVS store brand equivalent... it is a gradual tan - but it looks natural, just make sure you get the one for light skin. The CVS store brand smells soooo gooood too. Make sure you wash your hands afterwards also. Takes about 2 weeks for full effect.

If you are looking for something faster, try Mystic Tan or Airbrush, but make sure to use the lightest color they have if you are really fair skinned. Follow all the instructions carefully (use the lotion, cover eyes rub upwards with a towel, etc.) and it shouldn't come out looking fake or orange at all . =)

Thankfully i have a sort of year-round tan..heh heh...

Anyway, try clarins self-tanning lotion. It is rather pricey but it works. Read a review here: http://www.ciao.co.uk/Clarins_Self_Tanning_Gel__Review_5448757
