If you live near a community college try taking a class. You could also look into doing volunteer work in a hospital- seems like you would meet a lot of people that way. There's always church. Maybe try a different one than you may have been exposed to in the past. Choose an interest of yours and then try to find people with a similar interest. Good luck. You sound real sweet.

Think about the things that you like to do, and the places you like to go, and there is a good chance that there will be people there that enjoy the same things that you do.
You could also try chat rooms and online dating services if you're comfortable with meeting someone from the internet.
and by the way, 76 can be very young as long as that's how you feel.

My father-in-law volunteers his time at the local community bookstore and local museum - he has met a lot of other people doing this, both young and old. Through these connections, he's been able to socialize and interact more and now he is busier than us! He gets involved in community events, where lots of older people tend to get involved as well. The bookstore puts on various events, such as readings, movie screenings, toy drives, etc. and they have Christmas parties and things of that sort for all the volunteers to have fun together as well.

Bingo Halls, Senior bus trips, Elks lodges, Card games, local cafes especially in mornings, a lot of seniors also like to play golf, so try a golf course. If all this fails, maybe you could just go to Disneyland and chill with Goofy and Daffy. : )
Heck I'd hang out with ya.

Church events, senior center where they hold organized events. There are probably some individuals in the same position. Maybe some friends of friends. With such a positive attitude you should have no problem. Good luck to you and God bless****

Online dating site. You can write email notes to each other, exchange phone numbers, and perhaps meet the person for coffee or something to get more acquainted. Great fun.
There are lots of men your age looking for female companionship. Good luck.

you can definitely meet people online at Yahoo Personals, or Cupid.com, but remember, it has it hang-ups, i think that is is very brave of you to want to get back out into life after suffering the loss of your husband, and i wish you the best of luck....just be careful, and dont get too emotionally attached to anyone until you really get to know them, people can be very misleading online sometimes
