because they were never taught how to express their feelings

The truth is when men are boys of about 1 to 2 years old they are developing what "men" should be like, if they do not have a father figure, or if their father is worried about his job and getting food on the table, which is common at that age, then they do what their Dad did. They hold it all in so as not to worry the kid or the Mom. That pattern repeats itself generation after generation. The caveman worried about catching enough game ad infinum.
When men grow older they are more able to express their feelings because they have more experience and less worries.

because society raises boys that become men to believe that at all times they have to be 'tough'. Expressing feelings exposes men's vulnerable side, and vulnerability does NOT = tough. Also, if a man has lived his whole life without ever expressing feelings on a regualr basis, they wont really know how. So instead they either suppress feelings or channel them into anger (which seems to be the only feeling that can be expressed that will allow someone to still appear to be 'tough')

Come on! Men have problems with their feelings because from an early age they are taught to suppress them. " Don't cry. " " Don't be to sensitive. " " Stop acting like a girl. " At every turn they are bombarded with the ills of showing their feelings. Not to mention as a result of this they are not equipped to express their feelings effectively because they have been told from early on to hide them. You know the whole thing about how men are suppose to be strong and all that jazz. I have even meet women that say they want a sensitive man but the moment he shows his sensitivity that very same woman will ridicule and make fun of him. So until we as a society begin to make it acceptable for men to express their feelings things will continue to be this way.

no its not the way boy are raised, and its not that men dont like to be vulnerable. men's brains are wired differently from womens brains. womens brains are wired in a way that women interact socially and verbally with each other. this lets women tend to be good communicators with babies before the baby can talk. men are not wired this way. men are wired to focus on one thing at a time. to focus on the prey they are stalking and ignoring the cold or the heat or the rain to be able to get the kill and bring it home to the family. its not that men dont want to talk to you and spent time with their feelings, its that men physically dont have the ability to recognise feelings.
