If it is infected you need an antibiotic eye ointment which will require a prescription from a doctor. Don't use an over the counter antibiotic ointment - they aren't meant to be used in the eyes.

at the first sign of iching or crusting, I use a solution of Boric acid, 1 teaspoon disolved in one cup of boiled water. Let it cool to look warm and wash the eye area with cotton balls using a new one every time and for each eye . . it will not hurt you eye if you get some of it in the eye. This is used on babies. Repeat the process 3 x a day until clear. Now if you have had this for a while, see a Dr ASAP it may be an infection that needs an anti biotic or a RX Take care, of your eyes there is only one pair per person. Get well soon .

Yes it will. Make sure you use the meds the doctor gave you & keep your hands & eyes clean. The doc had me use baby shampoo to clean my eyes 2 to 3 times a day. Use the hottest water I could comfortably stand on my eye. Use the hot compresses several times a day. Always wash you hands with antibacterial soap before & after you touch your eyes in order to keep the infection from spreading. Throw your mascara away and clean & sterilize all your eye make-up & applicators. There's no way to sterilize mascara so just get new mascara & don't use it until your infection clears up. Never share eye make-up either. Mascara should only be kept 3 months max.

I had that. I kept waking up with gunk in my eyes and matted somewhat to my lashes. Not real bad during the day, but there was stuff yet. Went to the doc. after about a month and they said "Why did you wait so long....this won't go away with out meds!". I thought it would and did not untill I got the meds from the pharmacy. So, I would say no. Better go see your doc.

Will it ever go away? That makes me thing you've had it for a while.

Why not go see your family doctor or an ophthalmologist for help? They will be able to diagnose the cause, provide you with relief (medication) and hopefully speed up the healing process.

Good luck.
