Everytime I try to cook spaghetti using the gas stove, some of the ends get a burned brown-like colour. I've noticed this when I put the spaghetti in the pan (one part of the spaghettis are in the water while the other half isn't, and it's the part sticking out that gets coloured) and set the heat to maximum. They then get this color after just a few minutes. Why is this?

It's drying out, then burning. Have a big pot of rapidly boiling water. Dump your spaghetti in. Wait a few seconds until the lower half softens enough to be flexible, then stir/push the rest down into the water.

Wow...never had this problem. How old is your spaghetti and how much water do you use? The spaghetti should not be cooking in the pot, rather boiling in the water!

well i usually bring my water to a boil before putting the noodles in, then i break them in half making sure that they are all soaked. Make sure you have plenty of water so that you don't have a problem with them sticking out. I will put about a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the boil, this will make the noodles to not stick together.

Try breaking it in half before you put in the boiling water and make sure that it is completely under the water and you shouldn't have a problem.

Maybe the ambient heat of the stove is cooking the noodles hanging-out of the pot? Try breaking the noodles in-half, so they all fit. Or get a taller pot.

when you put the spaghetti in the water you should stir it till it all goes under water. Or you could break it in half and put it in the pot.

get a larger pan to cook your spaghetti in, you need lots of water.

break them in half so that they all fit. or, bring water to a boil, then put the noodles in and stir them as soon as you put them all in. they will soften within a few seconds and all fit in the water
