the UN doesnt have its own army. Peacekeepers are taken from the armies of member nations that choose to send troops. you would have to join the regular army of a country, and then get in a unit that was picked for peacekeeping duty.

Join the armed forces of a nation that sends troops as "Peacekeepers" under the UN flag and wearing the light-blue beret or helmet. There are also civilian 'peacekeepers" and they can be police officers (Australia sent Police to Cyprus, Cambodia the Solomons and East Timor amongst other places operating under the UN command). The US does send some troops as "peacekeepers" but never wearing the UN beret and always operates outside of the UN command structure. Australia is one of the nations that has always had members of their military operating overseas in "peacekeeping" missions continuously since 1947 (the Israel/Egypt border even before Israel became a nation).

You have to be a member of the Armed Forces of any
country that is a member of the UN before you can be in a UN peacekeeper status. The Peacekeepers are drawn
from a foreign Military Force.

RE:
How do I become a UN peacekeeper?
I'm interested in joining the UN and a "blue helmet" peacekeeper. But cant find any information as to where those troops are drawn from? Are they directly drawn from foreign militaries or is there a way to apply directly with the UN?

Indeed, different countries have different policies on who to send. Here, Since we have national service, anyone can after their 6-12 month military service sign up to do a bit of peacekeeping, which is of course well paid, by any standards. I considered going myself, but decided I didn't have the time, and was not really eager to go back doing military stuff. ;)
You can apply for work within the UN, they need a variety of people, not only soldiers. Engineers, accountants, lawyers and so on.

You just join the military of your own country ( a UN member country ), and then if the UN needs peacekeepers, then your country will send you. It's a crappy, crappy job. You just stand there and get shot at, and you can't shoot back.

They are drawn directly from the militaries of the nation that has membership in the UN. But why join an institution that doesn't work, and gives little support on behalf their decisions?

why would you want to join? they do nothing and are not even allowed to defend innocent people unless they are directly fired upon.
