I am at work all day tommorrow and it will be very dark when I get home. I had wanted to visit a nearby Celtic well. I am a druid.

Today is my day off and the weather is beautiful. Should I visit the well today and do my prayers today, or do you think I should wait until tommorrow?

Many thanks.

Rather than consider this "moving" the celebration, extend it over a number of days. Visit the well while the weather is serene--sounds like a wonderful thing to do, by the way,--then light a candle and have a special Solstice meal tomorrow, and do something else special on December 22nd. I'm not sure where you are in the world, but if my memory is right, the precise moment of the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is just after midnight on the 22nd.

May you and your loved ones enjoy a Blessed Solstice.

Do it today since it's your day off. Your safety is more important that the absolute correct day, and you will be safer near a well during day light. If you have a chance to go visit the well again tomorrow over your lunch break when it's still light out, have some more fun. I'd suggest going to your well today, but tomorrow when you get home from work do something special for the Solstice in your home. Have a nice meal, maybe invite some friend over.

It's too bad that you can't even get your holiday off, but I wish you a blessed Solstice anyway!

i imagine about the historic, significant and exciting human history tied with the popularity of seasons replacing. The wintry climate Solstice honestly develop right into a needed one as communities of human beings living contained in the bleak chilly necessary some thing to celebrate till the nice and cozy temperature Spring solar again.

I think that's a question that you have to search your heart to answer. Can you truly feel your prayers and your connection to the divine the day before solstice? Would you feel good about it? One idea that springs to my mind is that you go and visit the well today and meditate, and then tomorrow take some time to remember solstice with prayer -- indoors.

If you're doing something more elaborate than just a prayer, then I don't think there's a problem with doing it today - though I would recommend saying a prayer and welcoming the return of the God on the actual Solstice. =)

The calendar is really only a guess at a mathematical probability that tomorrow is the Solstice. So as long as you are in the time of the solstice you can't go wrong! BB Sdw

Let's all celebrate with a hilarious Solstice joke of my own composition. It's a Summer Solstice joke, so those of you in the northern hemisphere will have to make your own or just put up with it. I'm not making you a separate joke.
What does Sir Ronnie Corbett have in common with the Summer Solstice?
They're both the shortest knight!

You should go and thank those today for the wonderful weather. I know I am. but light some candles and say some prayers tomorrow.

It is up to you to celebrate in whatever way you see fit, and I doubt the universe will smite you for going early.

But if it's important to do things right, then take the time tomorrow and do what needs to be done. I think you'll feel better about it anyway.

Yeah, it's fine. The purpose of Yule is to honor the return of the Sun, I'd say it doesn't matter if you're a day early.
