I think it is dishonest, I also find it to be demonic and disgusting behavior.
Story by Mark Niquette and Jim Siegel, the Columbus Dispatch, Dec. 20th.
"The people put a issue on the ballot in Ohio, that issue was passed by the voters of Ohio.
Issue language was stated and it was that language that was passed by the voters.
The Republican controlled Ohio House and Senate were expected to approve House Bill 690 last night or today. Then Rush it over to Gov. Bob Taft who has said he will sign it. House Bill 690 is not the bill that passed the voters approval but rather a Republican version drafted to favor the Anti-issue two supporters and two business interest lobby groups who align with the Republicans to write the legislation into the Ohio Constitution.
"It's a slap in the face to the more than 2 million voters who voted for issue two and a slap in the face of those who believe in the Democratic process." Said Tim Burga who supported the voter drive to get the issue on the ballot. Sooner or later this issue will be litigated.
The amendment was approved by 56 percent of the Ohio voters."
My words follow. In other words if you can't cheat at the ballot box then just change what was voted into law to what you want the law to read. Republicans have decided, they will not bow to the will of the people. They also will not serve the people they took a oath to serve.

Ok, some need to break open the books. A constitutional amendment is legal language written before it is given to the people to vote on. It can not be changed after the vote. Also Turbo, you should read the US Constitution again, also you need to understand what you read.

Actually, the dishonest thing is the belief that the people, through government, have the legal authority to set the terms of a private employment contract between 2 consenting adults.

That's what is dishonest. And it is damned unConstitutional, too!

Did the issue on the ballot make something a law permenantly? Or was it more of a suggestion legislature do something?

You didn't give specifics as to what it was people were voting on?

With out knowing what each bill actually said, there is no way
to properly address this question.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

What do you expect from politicians? They wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face. Hopefully, the courts will get involved and rectify this.
