The one about not being prideful. All of these idiots that are offended all the time are about people being too prideful, and from such, we have to live in a stupid PC infested world.

Yes, I am done with my rant

having a lot of pride means you are offended easier, when people are offended, they get mad and make you say happy holidays and fight PC wars

I understand your frustration, but insulting people-even if they are what you say-will not accomplish a postive end result. Sometimes, most of the time, we need to be careful of our rants. Many things we say can not be taken back. So, calm down and ask your question a different way.

Pride is the root of all sin. Not the act of being proud of something, say an accomplishment, but rather pride that keeps you blind and in bondage. Yes, people who are very proud tend to be easily offended and they normally are pretty closed to anything that is against their point of view. You will always hit opposition when dealing with a very proud person, Atheist or not.

Take it with a grain of salt and just pray.

If your atheist, why do you care what the bible says????

Answer to Mervin de Pervin: I'm not sure the bible says your home is your temple, that's like the saying "a mans home is his castle" I don't believe that would have anything to do with praying. If you research in the bible people prayed inside, outside, upside down...standing, sitting, kneeling, silent, out loud, there is no correct way, or set time, other than with respect and through Jesus name, God hears our prayers. I wouldn't think the Koran implies that either, don't they pray outside?

I didn't mean any disrespect to your believes when I said why do you care what the Bible says. And I don't mean any disrespect when I ask, why are you curious about prayer, when you don't pray to anyone. I truly believe that every human has the choice to believe what they want, and of course, I don't agree with you because I do believe that there is a God and that he send his son to die for all of us. And that the bible was recorded for our benefit and I honestly believe that you will never be able to prove it wrong no matter how hard you try. So if your set on being atheist, maybe, you should get on with your life. Enjoy it, don't worry what others think, because it's the only life you will have. No, I don't think you will burn in hell, I don't believe that is taught in the bible, but you will most likely have no chance of living again. Of course, I'm not the judge, God is.
Matthew 11:25

More than just Atheists take offense to stuff. There is nothing wrong with being politically correct because that is just a form of being polite, and we live in a very diverse world. If you were in the minority, you would not want to be offended by the majority. Being offended does not always make one an idiot either.

Sorry, I can't agree with you, not even with the bible. Pride is a virtue. We should all show pride in ourselves, our country, our accomplishments, our family.
But,,, pride carried to extreme is vanity. Now that's something different. Vanity is a vice.
If you want to go even farther, there's narcissism. This is self-love. A lot of it can be found in Hollywood.

Atheists care what the bible says because ignorant people use it to give them headaches. If I can learn enough of the inaccuracies and contradictions of the bible to make you doubt your silly fantasies then maybe you will go away and my head won't hurt from listening to your mindless garbage. Yours truly,

Mervin DePervin

:end of rant:

P.S there's no reason to be proud of knowing the truth, does it make me better than you? No, just better informed.

A question: is it stated in the bible (maybe the koran) that you should not pray outside of the home? I swear I came across this. The line was something like, "your home is your temple." Islam always striked me as slightly more logical in it's core morals than christianity so it's probably from there. Anyways just wondering.

Nothing wrong with the idea- but why take it from the bible? It is not a unique concept stemming from it, nor did the idea originate in chrisitanity......I also do not see the correlation between political correctness and pride? help me out here, will you?

There can be no doubt whatever that the peoples of the world, of whatever race or religion, derive their inspiration from one heavenly Source, and are the subjects of one God.

What you are implying is that athiests aren't moral becasue they arent christian and dont follow the bible?
Being too prideful goes for any walk of religion or life, we should all learn to humble ourselves to life, god, nature. Whatever you call it.

"When you pray, do not behave like the hypocrites who love to stand and pray in synagogues on on street corners in order to be noticed. I give you my word, they have already been paid...If you forgive the faults of others, your heavenly father will forgive you yours. If you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive you." Matthew 6:5-15
