Some religious beliefs I am not tolerant. Such as female circumsision and vaginal mutilations commonly done by muslims.
Other things such as whipping and beating women and children. Beheading your enemy and such. Should I tolerate these religious beliefs?
ANY RELIGION PRACTICING THESE BELIEFS I DO NOT TOLERATE. GET THE PICTURE!!

No need to answer the question really, just imagine this scenario.
A world of a large population with billions of individuals of different beliefs not tolerating others' beliefs...
What you get is chaos.
However, to tolerate is word that has a smelly connotation to it, that sorta implies that to actually tolerate someone's belief is to put in a lot of effort and personal sacrifice. The word that should be uses is, in my opinion, careless. Should we all be careless of your own beliefs? Yes we should. Why should we care what others believe? Why should we care so much as to tolerate it even?
Your freedom ends where mine begins... If people followed this much, this question would not have been asked on here.

As human beings, we can tolerate what we choose. On a higher scale, tolerance is based on a person's morals and beliefs. The morals and beliefs have a source. The source will be the authority for the amount of toleration.

MAYBE, IT DEPENDS..... This is the deal: This country was founded by Christians on Christian values and beliefs. Today, Christians are well over 89% of the USA population, making us the majority. This is a nation by the people, for the people. Christian men (along with non-christians, of course) have shed blood on the battlefield for this Country, to keep it free so that everyone, Christian or not could worship as they believed. Thats fine, the way it should be.
Christians will be tolerant of all religions as long as they do not interfere with our God, and the worship thereof. When Jesus returns, he'll straighten out the whole mess. See ya then.

As long as those beliefs aren't infringing on the rights and freedoms of others, I think that everyone should be tolerant of others' beliefs.
It's when those beliefs turn into actions that affect others (who don't share the same belief system) that it starts getting ugly.
Everything from "you can't wear that hat because I don't believe in Santa Claus" to "you can't sing that song because it might offend someone else" to "you have to die because you don't believe like I do"

I think that the only thing we should not tolerate is intolerance.
I tolerate other's beliefs no matter how rediculous they seem to me, however, I won't tolerate those (no matter how sane they seem to me) who hold the belief that they should not tolerate other's beliefs.

Everyone should tolerate the beliefs of others. All religions teach religious tolerance, including Christianity and Islam.
Baha'u'llah wrote: "It is permitted that the peoples and kindreds of the world associate with one another with joy and radiance. O people! Consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship. Thus hath the day-star of His sanction and authority shone forth above the horizon of the decree of God, the Lord of the worlds."
"Lay not on any soul a load which ye would not wish to be laid upon you, and desire not for anyone the things ye would not desire for yourselves. This is My best counsel unto you, did ye but observe it."

If by intolerant you mean harming me (e.g. hitting me) for my beliefs and if we all live in America then you should be tolerant of my beliefs because if you are not you may end up in jail. Punishment will increase in severity as the level of intolerance increases. E.g. if you murder then you may get life in prison or the death penalty. I assume everyone in America doesn't want to be a criminal. When you say "we" I assume you are talking about all people in America.

I honestly don't care if you are tolerant of my beliefs as long as your intolerance doesn't include breaking any laws. We have freedom of religion and you can believe what you wish. We also have freedom of speech and you can speak out against what you wish. I can do the same.
Merry Christmas.

Only if you are tolerant with the Apostles of Old taught, Because that is what I go By, & the Apostle Paul said if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost, & Apostle Paul also said if any man or even an angel from heaven come down from heaven & preached unto you any other gospel than what we have preached, let him be accursed, That is how sure Paul was about His teachings & the other Apostles teachings, & that is how sure I am about what I believe in.
