All depends on where you live. Before the bottle even gets to the store shelf a certain portion of the price you see for the product is tax that has been added in. This will very by state. On top of the retail price (with taxes already added in) you have to pay sales tax and in some places deposit.

Every locale is different. The tax amount will be on the receipt. I live near my states boarder ... the next state over has far fewer taxes and fees on booze .... I just take a quick drive out of state. So, if your buying quantity, check around.
