How are they connected?

Not much connection I can find. Mithra was a Persian solar deity. Hindus worship a large pantheon of Gods and Goddesses; the devas, lead by Indra, and the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Mother Kali and Durga are prominent Hindu Goddesses. The Hindus have a huge body of religious literature called the Vedas, and the Upanishads. Hinduism is still widely practiced in India to this day.

Mithra is the creator god of mithraism, a religion founded by zaratustra about the constant fight between good and evil.

brahma is also god creator, Mithra's counterpart in hinduism.
