OK, I enjoy the Answers!,Society and Culture section, however, I am very disturbed by the Religion and Spirituality Q&A.

I have a suggestion.

Fellow believers, please stop hounding the non-believers. It is not our place to tell people they are evil, or going to hell, or whatever else is being said. Please let them be.

Non-believers, please stop calling the believers morons, or mindless drones. Please let us be.

There, that would make the Society and Cultures section much mroe enjoyable. Dont you think?

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

In this section of Yahoo answers I think its good to call a spade a spade. I believe when it comes to matters of life and death you have to hold no punches back. Do not get me wrong here for I do not advocate for un-Godly speeches and the labelling others as fodder for hell. What is evil has to be called evil so that other can see the light. If you pat someone on the back when they are in wrong things and do not raise your voice against that, then that person's blood will be upon your hands if you know the truth. You can take that from Jesus and even John the baptist.
In any case religion is all about fighting evil.

So okay, it's a wee bit hostile in here, but it shouldn't be a problem. Believers and non-believers alike should be given the freedom to voice what they feel and think. Yes, those who claim others will go to hell, are morons etc. are wrong to do so, but isn't that why we have an abuse-reproting system here?
I am a non-believer.

I can't understand why anyone who is not a believer even want to be in the Religious and Spiritualty category, unless they are looking for an argument, or trying to stir up trouble.

There are so many other choices, if you don't believe, then leave, and go somewhere else. Why insult people of faith? Is it just a sport with you?

I agree with your viewpoint to a point because the Scripture does say, "Woe unto them that doth gender strife." Meaning that God's not pleased with those of us who use the Word to stir up trouble, no matter how well-intended. We as Christians are commissioned to "preach the Word, be instant, in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, reproach with all long-suffering", and "Go ye out into the highways and hedges and COMPEL them to come in". "Compel" is the operative word, for we are only to present it to them, not force it upon them and this is where the arguments escalate and the Word falls in places where it's not sown. I say we should continue in the witness, but have a Spirit-led sensitivity to where we take it and who we take it to. We're not to "cast our pearls before the swine" as it were.

But if the theistic did not tell others about their theology, the whole world would soon be atheistic, since everyone is born atheist and has to be told by others about the existence of what deities there are.

So your plan would lead to global atheism. Cool.

What do theists have against differences of opinion? You think we should all just keep quiet and pretend we all think the same? A group of people with more or less the same information has come to several distinct and contradictory interpretations, it makes sense that they should be discussed.

You are SO going to hell for this one...just kidding.

Look, slandering others anonymously is what the Internet's all about. As long as there are assholes, there will be opinions that offend that are voiced in the most hateful manner.

I love the idea! It IS possible, but NOT probable. As long as people feel the need to force their beliefs on others, it will never happen. It's sad really. BB Sdw

Yes, let's all just follow along mindlessly some more.

This forum was not intended to be "nice" and "pretty". It was intended to invoke thought, and quietly going along, not pushing buttons does not invoke thought.

It would be nice to dispense with the stupid, off-topic questions, though.
