I genuinely care for people, I try to do as much as I can for those in need. Sometimes its hard though when you have four kids of your own, one with a disability and a husband with MS, but those of us who can ....do. You make time to help and caring I think is born into you. Out of the 4 of my children I can say that two of them genuinely care about others and there feelings, one of the other one with the disability has now way of showing if she cares and the other one is 15 and when they get that age you can't tell if they care about anything. But for the record there are people out there that care about others....

Myself and 3 unpaid volunteers are providing a 4 course lunch for 43 single, mentally ill people on Xmas Day just so they have at least one day over the festive period when they can say they have celebrated. We do care even though their local community dosent . We get a lot of satisfaction out of the day as we know that for just a few hours these guys have felt as if they deserved to be treated the same as everyone else. Nobody wakes up one morning and thinks "I think I will be mentally ill from today - it sounds like an easy ride". They suffer and on top of that they have to suffer fear and prejudice from their neighbours, friends and even strangers. We give a little of our time and that is a small price just to make someone feel they are worth something - even just for a short time over the christmas period...........

Y'no what your sort of right. I work with homeless males all year round and although I just have the 2 main days of 25th and 26th the lads won't cross my mind during them 2 days.
I will eat drink be merry with all my family around me and increased amounts of food and drink - and probably loads of waste too..... But I will be too lost in this to even think about other people.
Those who give the thumbs down to this answer will only be kidding themselves.
I will make sure they are OK the day I leave and I will go back into work the 27th and worry about them then.
It's just the way it is.

I volunteer an donate all year long, so this time of year is the same as any other time of the year for me. I will still be helping others.

If you don't care for others the rest of the year, why would you start now? Those feelings are reserved for those of us who are compassionate year-round.
