I gained 100 lbs and I now working on losing the weight. I workout about 2 1/2 hrs day maybe less. I'm not forcing myself to but I seem to enjoy working out. I walk about 5,000 steps on the treadmill, cardio and weight training. My husband says this is too much. Is he right?

If you still feel good and you aren't injuring yourself, it's probably fine. You want to make sure you vary your workouts, though, for maximum weight loss. Your body can get used to using the same muscles all the time and this can hinder your weight loss. The most important thing is to listen to your body--it will tell you if you're doing too much. It sounds like you have a good base plan! Good luck with your weight loss!

Don't overdo it with exercising. You will know when you need a break. Working out every day is NOT good for you as you need some time to rest. I usually do 1.5 hour at the gym MAX. Make sure you cross train so you get the best workout (i.e. cardio AND weight training). And most importantly, make sure you are eating right/tweaking your daily diet because if you are working out and eating badly, you are not going to lose a single pound.
Good luck. Stay motivated and you CAN do it :)

P.S. Cut out soda. This is will work WONDERS if you do.

Nope. He's wrong. If you feel comfortable with your workout and it isn't leaving you fatigue, sore or drained for the rest of the day or the next, then you are doing fine. Perhaps your husband's concern is about spending less time with him.

to lose weight all you need is a 20-30 minute moderate-fast paced walk in the morning and another one in the evening.

you can tell if you're exercsing too much if you...

mood changes
can't sleep
tired all the time
depressed
