There used to be clove flavored candy canes and clove flavored ribbon hard candy. They were really good! They disappeared off the face of the earth! This has really bugged me to no end!

I don't think they sold well. Clove is such a strong flavor and smell, I imagine they probably had a hard time in stores. However, there are still places you can find it online, just do a google or yahoo search for "Clove Candy".

I can't answer where they disappeared to but I do know you can get clove oil to make Rock Candy with, we did this just last week. The house smelled like cloves for days, I loved it.
Rock Candy
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup light karo syrup
Mix together and boil until 300 degrees (be sure you have a candy thermometer, this temp is very important!) turn off heat, dump in candy flavor, poor over two cookie sheets covered in powdered sugar, wait a few minutes and snip with kitchen shears. Sift candy and enjoy!

You can still buy really good clove candy at two places (that I'm familiar with).

OH MAN......I saw another candy bar question and was always wondering about the alpine white bar!!! I loved it soooo much. I loved the little wrapper it came in so it would stay fresh! I cant believe we cant get these anymore. I wish I could find a recipe so I could make my own!! That would be awesome!!!!! I can actually taste it now! If anyone ever comes acrossed a recipe send it my way please!!!
