There are no stupid questions. . . . just stupid people.

The answer to this question is a resounding NO!!! The Bible is a book that is open to thousands of interpretations. Some fundamentalist Christians still believe that the Bible is a word for word historical account, however, most theologians see the Bible as more of a collection of morality stories and ideas. Only the epistles of Paul have a historical record proving their authorship, all others do not have very good sources. Ask your questions, and seek the truth!!!

I am Buddhist and am always questioning. There really isn't a stupid question to my mind, saying that however there are questions which are purposefully deigned to hurt or humiliate others.

By all means ask questions, seeks answers which are bothering you and cause confusion and misunderstandings. Only frame your question so that it is obvious to others that it is for a clearer understanding and is not designed to hurt or inflict hurt.

If your ideology is confusing then you should be free to ask about it, ridicule of your question shows immaturity and would make me question the validity of the one questioned..

Even evidence can be interpreted. The important thing about an ideology is that you understand what is being asked of you by that ideology, anything less and you are simply following a Dogma blind and not really fully participating in that ideology. To this end you should seek answers to become that which you aspire, in this way you may become a better person as you can then understand and be more tolerant of other's in their ideology without feeling threated by them.

The best 'followers' are those who would accept that all people are just as ardent and true to their ideologies, no matter what the 'religion'. What makes it worthwhile is this knowledge and tolerance will become normal with understanding as you will become aware of all humans as just as 'right' as you. In fact you won't see religions as being different but will see that the similarities far outweigh any slight cosmetics and further you'll appreciate those differences in that it is those differences which make us all unique as humans....

I advocate that you should always seek answers, not to prove your own ideology correct, but to clarify how similar it is to all others and so making the question valid for all....

Peace.....

All religions need new interpretations.
The concept of love 2000 or 1000 years ago is greatly different with its concept today. But only the succeeding Messenger of God can shoulder this divine task. That is why man has to read the Holy Books to find out Who is the Prophet of the present time to interpret all the Holy Books of the past Dispensations.

Firstly, there is no stupid question. However, the Apostle Paul in his instructions to Timothy (II Timothy 2:16 & 17) admonished Timothy to shun profane and idle babblings. The results of certain conversation is just not worth the agony of the debate. What is the purpose of the question? Is it to show intelligence, to encourage or to stir up strife?

In different examples you have noted, you're making the blunders that there could desire to be a organic rationalization for them or they could no longer have got here approximately. interior the learn of technology ~ there are various problems, yet you anticipate explainability for them. many stuff are certainly explainable, and examine is persisted over controversy. interior the learn of The Bible ~ there are various problems, and we anticipate explainability for them. many stuff are certainly explainable, and examine is persisted over controversy. even with the undeniable fact that, critics of The Bible are no longer honest-minded as they presume it to be to blame of blunders as a substitute of harmless. They confuse our fallible interpretations of it with Gods infallable revelation. There are no medical or historic errors interior the Bible ~ none! The Genesis account isn't symbolic. neither is the flood neither is the story of Jonah. even however the great bang thought maintains to be unproven and it won't be able to respond to questions like ~ the place did each and each of the undertaking come from interior the 1st place ~ evolutionists and atheists alike are somewhat content to have faith it besides. So why is it so no longer ordinary to have faith that God spoke each and everything into life? If he's the author of all issues could desire to he no longer reason Jonah to proceed to exist interior the tummy of a fish? As for Jesus' miracles and his resurrection, there have been many eye witnesses to those issues. It takes approximately 2 generations or eighty years for a delusion to advance ~ long after the eyewitnesses to the bills have died. however the Apostles began coaching at latest, and the 1st letters to the churches contained interior the recent testomony have been written approximately 30 or 40 years after Jesus ascended into Heaven. that's distinctly no longer ordinary to propagate a delusion on an analogous time as the eyewitnesses are nonetheless alive. no longer basically that, yet there are over 5,seven hundred manuscripts that tutor the authenticity of the recent testomony on my own. maximum historical books have basically one or 2. Such is the case with Alexander the great, and not something replaced into even written approximately him till 500 years after his dying.

There's no such thing as a stupid question. Only questions that are intended to stir up trouble without evidence or support are problematic and the Scripture only calls these questions "foolish and unlearned".

There are some of us who welcome different interpretations, however, some interpretations I see on here are just plain silly or someone trying to be mean. My step-father is a pastor and he will sit with me while I give him different interpretations I see about a sermon he preached. He welcomes other views and he even will see what other people are saying and see their points.

"The only "stupid questions" are the ones you are afraid to ask..."

I am a Christian, and I question the "mainstream interpretation" all the time.
Of course, I'm not terribly popular with mainstream Christians, but as long as Jesus still loves me, I don't worry about it.

Not necessarily, unless the intent is to somehow convince others to your point of view here on Y!A. If that's the case, then yes, it's a stupid question.

The only thing that makes a question a stupid one is the attitude with which it is asked.
