Hi,
I am writing to ask about a problem my girlfriend is having with her eyes. It's happened a few times over the years and it's a matter of real concern for me.
What troubles me is that she suffers from a complete loss of vision in both eyes and feels as if she is about to pass out. She becomes very pale white and I have also noticed that she will break out in a light sweat. She'll have to sit down and then after a while, she is back to normal as if nothing has happened.
It has happened once at a concert and twice while standing in line. Last week she told me that she woke up and collapsed in the middle of the night on the way to the restroom resulting in really bad bruises.
I'm really worried about her and I need some information so I can persuade her to see a doctor. Thanks for reading this and I hope you have a great day! I appreciate all your help.

If the problem only occurs when standing, it would lead me to think she may have a condition called vasovascular syncope. It happens when the arteries in the legs don't get the signal to contract when standing and all the blood drains from the brain and heart. It can be very dangerous and can be diagnosed by a "tilt table exam". If the spells occur while she is both sitting and standing, she should have her blood checked for sugar levels as she may have diabetes.

That could be a number of things- Including blood pressure problems. I've had trouble similar to that, though I had largely outgrown it by the time I was in college.

This may sound strange- but she could have heart trouble or strokes, or a number of other conditions. She really should get this looked at: That isn't right in a young person.

Also, my grandmother started experiencing something like that after she took some kind of diet aid (Metabolife) that really messed up her metabolism but good. And before that, she was a strong healthy woman that would work circles around someone half her age.

Good luck.

At first it sounded like panic attacks, but she also passes out while alone at night. It's most likely linked to low blood pressure or sugar levels from what she eats or does not eat,and very often not eating frequently enough. She can get easy simple tests from any doctor/clinic to determine a cause. Advise it be done today if possible, since she is in danger of further harm or injury from passing out.

That sounds like something a family friend went through. Those symptoms quickly changed to seizures. She ended up having a seizure in a hotel by herself and died. Please tell your girlfriend to get to a doctor as soon as possible. If she won't go confer with her family. This is a possible life or death situation.
