I was just wondering what is your favorite holiday song? Although I am Wiccan I have to say I love the song "Belleau Wood" by Garth Brooks but then again any song that speaks of peace can't be a bad song.

Bright Blessings for your holidays )O(

My idea of Christmas music is Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite."

Well... I have to admit "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" still makes me smile.

I've got a bunch, since Christmas is my favorite time of the year (even more so than Halloween, which is special for me now that I have acknowledged being an wiccan).

Santa Clause is Back in Town, Blue Christmas, and Merry Christmas Baby: Elvis Presley

Rockin Around the Christmas Tree: Brenda Lee

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer: Elmo and Patsy

O Holy Night: any version

What Child is This: any version, except the opera versions.

Carol of the Bells: Mannheim Steamroller (I think thats the name of the song)

We Three Kings: any version, the more choral the better.

The Little Drummer Boy: Harry Simeone Chorale

I am Wiccan too, but I love alot of the Holiday songs.....heard them so often as a child that they bring back alot of fond memories. Good King Wenslesus (my spelling is bad here) is a great one, probably only because I got to participate in Chorus in school and sing it. And "A Wassailing" (again my spelling is bad) was another I liked quite well.

Merry Christmas (war is over) by Lennon, and Sarah McLachlan did it beautiful justice as well!

Oh, I can't get enough of Greensleeves or Carol of the Bells by Mannheim Steamroller either!!

Jars of Clay does a moving Drummer Boy and Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan have a Medley of God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen and We Three Kings with a Groovy beat. . . but those are religiously slanted.

Hmmm....
Growing up as a Christian many songs come to mind - traditions always remain in the mind ya know.

A couple I like that a little less religious are
"Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire"
"Sleigh Ride"

Christmas Eve in Sarajevo by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra-it's a rock version of Carol of the Bells.

I have to admit that, I, like you, have a place in my heart for Christmas songs of peace.
But, a couple of Frosty the Snowman's wouldn't be turned off either. lol
'Angels we have heard on high' is one I find myself humming while baking. I just love the tune!
Blessed Be
