you need to fast for 24 hours then the next day drink the colyte. if you aren't cleaned out they won't do the procedure.

No, You really need to fast. This gives your body time to expel all of the food you have eaten in the past few days. If there is any in your tract, it will throw the test results off. I have had 3 colonscpoies in my life and it really sucks to have to fast, but at least you don't have to repeat the test. I wish the best for you and hope that everything comes back normal with the results. Merry Christmas.

Do what your Dr. says. They Cannot get a clear view if there is alot of waste in your intestines. My mom had one this summer. Do not eat solids, only clear liquids one day before the procedure. Make sure you take all the laxitives before the prcedure.

I'm thinking that really you should follow your Dr.'s instructions. My mother has had 2 colonoscopy's and really what her Dr. has recommended has been exactly what your's did. You really don't want to end up "messing" yourself. The embarrasment would be unbareble! ! lol
