Canada, like the rest of the world, is divided into time zones. London, England, for example, is 7 hours away from the Mountain Standard Time Zone, which includes the Rocky Mountains, Calgary, and Edmonton. When in doubt, check an atlas.

It depends on where you are looking at in Canada. It goes as follows:

Newfoundland & Labrador (NST): 3 hours & 30 minutes behind
Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island & New Brunswick (AST): 4 hours behind
Most of Quebec & Most of Ontario (EST): 5 hours behind
Remainder of Ontario, Manitoba & Saskatchewan (CST): 6 hours behind
Alberta (MST): 7 hours behind
British Columbia & Yukon Territory (PST): 8 hours behind

The Northwest Territories and Nunavut are spread pretty much equally between MST & CST.

Subtract 5 hours from London (UK) time to get Toronto/Montreal time. Subtract 8 for Vancouver; 7 for Calgary.

Depends what part of Canada, since it covers so many time zones.....

But ranges from 4hrs behind in Nova Scotia (on the Atlantic Ocean side), through to about 8hrs behind over in British Columbia / up towards the border with Alaska on the Pacific Ocean side of the country
