Our muslim friends, who own a very large department store in London, celebrate it too. Jesus is a very respected and revered prophet to muslims too and although it's not a directly observed celebration for them, it's consistant with their religion to clelebrate Christ's birthday and a lot of them do. It would be like white poeple observing Martin Luther King's birthday in the US. White kids get off school, just like the African Americans and they enjoy it just as much too. Most muslims are very accepting of other religions, in fact their religion MANDATES acceptance of Judaism and Christianity as religions "of the book", since they have holy books from God. So contarary to an unfounded, although understandable, fear of muslims sensitivities toward Christmas, most like all the celebration related to one of their own prophets (Jesus).
Unfortunatley the radical muslims have made the news much more frequently than the modrate ones and it's questions like yours that help shed some light on the wonderful people who happen to practice this religion, which is in fact more like Christianity than even Judaism.

Hi, you can also see my longer answer to the question earlier of whether to give Muslims Christmas presents.
But generally Muslims do the same thing at Christmas as everyone else, have a family get together, eat too much, watch rubbish TV programs and get ready for shopping in the sales.
However quite a lot of Muslim shops will still be open, so if you're in need of a pint of milk or a kebab on Christmas day, you know which area of your town/city to look!

They: Are normal people with normal lives and jobs and the normal mundane routines of life.
They: will sit in front of the telly and watch re runs of "only fools and horses and hopefully Mr Spencer and possibly a decent Christmas film. The more adventurous ones might just watch Santa Claus!
They: Will wait outside the shops on the 27th when the sales start and look for bargains just like anyone else.
They: will go and visit family whilst they've got some time off from work and school etc.
Shocking how THEY could do all this. THEY should be kicked out.

I'm a Muslim in the US. I had visited the UK and didn't know there were so many Muslims there! Wow... but maybe it's just because it's a smaller place and so you see more people. Anyway, speaking from my perspective over here, Christmas is just another day for us. My daughter gets a "winter break" instead of a Christmas break. And since hubby is off work for a couple of days we try to get out of town and go to the coast or something. Or we hang out and do family stuff.

I think you will find that they enjoy the holiday just like everyone else. In my girlfriends families case, (They are Iranian Shia Muslims) they are all going to Las Vegas for christmas and new year. Normally though they would spend the day together like any english family, but they wouldn't do all the things like exchanging presents and having roast turkey.
In Iran it is different as dec 25th is just a normal working day. They have their new year in March which is their big holiday.

Oh dear, there is nothing to 'cope' with. We feel no animosity towards Christmas or Christians. And whoever does belongs to a small minority of fools not confined solely to the Muslim faith. I suggest you stop believing whatever it is your reading.
drampor is spot on by the way
