I am gonna be taking a vacation soon want to take alot of pics, some of them will be at night. I want to take pics of fireworks, moon, ect.... plus alot of action shots during the day. What is the best camera that can do both, with the best clarity, color, and can do both day and night shots.

You will need a camera that you can control both shutter speed and aperture like a SLR film or Digital. Taking a photo of the Moon can be tricky if the shutter speed is to slow the Earth rotation will cause the moon to have a streak so to speak.
So don't use an automatic mode, use Manual , and you don't need the Meter just take the ISO the camera set at and set the shutter speed to a closest to that ( like if the ISO is at 100 set the shutter speed to 1/125, a ISO 200, shutter speed at 1/250. etc. Then set the aperture at f-16 this is you starting point. You can then open the aperture 1 stop and slow the shutter speed by one. etc.
I personnel like Nikon Cameras

You really need to suggest a price range first. To answer your question simply, I'd suggest the Mamiya ZD. It's just slightly bigger than a 35MM, with 22 megapixels, and has the clarity and range of a medium format camera. It will probably cost you about $8,000, but you're asking about the 'very best camera,' right?

So, you see why you might want to include a price range? You might also want to include anything else, such as if you're seeking a film or digital camera. With the pricing so close, and the added costs of processing, film, etc, I'd go with digital.

More info and I'll definately add more suggestions.

I am partial to Sony since I own one that has 6 Mega-pixels and has 12X optical. BUT if you really want to LEARN photography, take shots of the moonfire works etc anyone that knows something about photography would steer you to a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera. That is the type and you will have complete control of your picture taking. A DSLR is great if the sticker price doesn't shock you.

If you really want to capture a very nice picture, you have to get a SLR camera such as Nikon D80. SLR have many kind of lenses and with this lenses you can capture a thumb up picture but you have to learn how to use the SLR camera first. SLR won't be outdated as the digital camera was so i would like to say you better have a SLR camera if you want to capture a very nice picture and don't want to change ur camera always. Try to search for www.nikon.com and looking for SLR Nikon D80. You said you want to capture night view so you must get the SLR Digital Camera because they can extra your light with external light. I want to suggest you to read more or research more about the SLR Guide so you can capture a professional picture with the accessories you have for your SLR Camera.
