Voltaren (generic-diclophenac) is a wonderful anti-inflammatory medication. I used it for years for a bulging disk.
I have heard that people can loose their appetite when on these types of meds, however, that never happened to me. You may want to talk to your doctor and let him/her know your about your difficulty eating. He may want to prescribe something else for you to avoid your lack of appetite. It's important when your taking your Voltaren that you take it with food. Voltaren is known to cause stomach bleeding/ulcers and you need food to lessen the chances of this happening. Also, taking Voltaren on an empty stomach can cause stomach pain and nausea.

Voltaren and Voltaren side effects
Important things you should know about diclofenac
Contact your doctor if you experience blood in vomit or bloody, black, or tarry stools. These symptoms could indicate damage to the stomach or intestines, which could be dangerous.
Many over-the-counter cough, cold, allergy, and pain medicines contain aspirin or other medicines similar to diclofenac (such as ibuprofen, ketoprofen, and others). Before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicine, talk to your doctor and pharmacist.
Take diclofenac with food, milk, or an antacid to lessen stomach upset.
Do not crush or chew diclofenac tablets. Swallow them whole.
Avoid alcohol or use it with moderation. If you drink more than three alcoholic beverages a day, diclofenac may increase the risk of dangerous stomach bleeding. Talk to your doctor before taking diclofenac if you drink more than 3 alcoholic beverages a day.

Most anti-inflamatories should be taken with or after food, as they can attack the lining of the stomach and in extreme cases, cause ulcers and bleeding.
Your loss of appetite is probably due to not taking the tablets correctly. If taken with or after food, the tablets will not do any damage and will do the job they are supposed to.

I used to take Naprosyn but my doctor gave me Voltaren....made me as crook as a dog they did. I'd previously had and been cured for stomach ulcers and they cam back resulting in a 2 month course of tablets. And I think they may have caused my thyroid to get out of whack, never again for me. I'll put up with my chronic back pain thanks!
