i was gong to run a phone line into my house from one of 2 outside boxes i have at my house, but there is no key to tell me which wire goes where, color wise. is there a standard way these are done? thanks

If you use standard four wire cabling, Line 1 is Red and Green and Line 2 is Black and Yellow.

If you use CAT5 (8 wire) cabling, Blue and Blue/White is Line 1, Orange and Orange/White are Line 2.

Unless your telephone equipment is sensitive to reverse polarity, it shouldn't matter which post is connected to Red and Green.
