Hi. What are your interests? Do you play any sports? Join a sports league at a recreational level that is co-ed. You'll meet many people who have the same interests as you do so you'll have an easy, relaxed way to talk with each other during and after the games. Not a sports person? How about reading? Book clubs. Movies? There are clubs for those, too.
I always enjoyed these things, met a ton of great people and many of the pretenses and nervousness weren't there because everyone already had similar interests.

If you want to meet a guy and you don't want to have alcoholic beverages involved, here are a few good places you should try:
1) Church, Synogogue, Mosque or any other hourse of worship.
2) Volunteer groups.
3) Gym or health clubs.
4) Electronic Stores
5) Sporting good stores.
6) Bookstores.
