Does that mean that he wants to be friends
but doesn't want you to have another boyfriend?

Sounds to me like he has feelings for you, but either doesn't understand them or isn't ready to commit. Just because he's confused and afraid to commit doesn't mean you have to be alone. If you want to date someone else you're free to do so. And if he can't handle that then he needs to step up to the plate or he is not really your friend.

wow, that's guy's gotta learn some lesson..
well, as a guy, this is wat i think:
when we say that, it means that we jus want to be friends..(either cuz we aren't ready to commit or we think that we're not suitable for the girl..)..(and actually it's better than a guy who jus says "Let's have a relationship" and then still dates every other girl..)..BUT
we WISH that u won't have another boyfriend.. i guess we're still kinda possessive.. cuz we still like the girl..
we ain't supposed to be mad, though.. cuz that's our own decision..
MAYBE u might kindly tell him that u need a boyfriend to be with, to spend time with, to date, to be dependent upon... then u can tell him sincerely that if he can't do that, u'd need to find someone to fill the empty space in ur heart.. if he still insists on bein "jus friends", maybe u can ask him a favor.. to allow u to have a boyfriend.. tell him that if he wants to see u happy, he'd need to give her some freedom.. that'll take A LOTTA guts for u, though...
after that, he's gotta stick with his words..if he ain't, then he ain't a gentleman in the first place.. if he's still mad at u, i guess u outta ignore it... u've done ur part.. let him do his..

Rather normal for most men. I would not call a person like that a friend. Real friends will be happy for you if you are happy. Very few of us have real friends.
What he is saying is that he can do as I pelase and you do as he tells you to do.

He just wants to be your friend but he wouldnt want you to give your attention to some other guy because he would be getting less. He might even realized how much he likes u once he sees you with another guy.

He wants he's cake and eat it to, you make the rules don't let him make them for you. Tell him friends means just that friends not boyfriend and girlfriend tell him if he can't understand that then holla.
