I have been with my boyfriend for just over a week, hes really nice and i do like him. There 1 problem, he has just changed jobs and now is going to be working off shore for the next 2 months(from today)! Its good in a way but as its such a long time im worried he may stop thinking about me. He said he would e-mail me. I have been hurt by blokes in the past, and he knows that. I think that hes genuine, and will wait for him to come back to see if he still likes me. But what would everyone else do in this situation? Would you wait to see what happens in 2 months or would you move on?

Wait and see what happens. Why think about some thing that is too far into the future and besides at least he has a job and isn't a state freeloading scumbag

if he stays true to his word and e-mails you then yes wait for him!i know 2 months may feel like a long time now but really it will soon pass. it is difficult when you have been hurt in the past but you must remember your new guy has done nothing to incline that he also will hurt you. new man new start! you enjoy the e-mails and look forward to seeing him again!! don't be afraid! good luck i hope and pray it works out for you!xx

Try it hun. As you said you're only seeing each other for just over a week and you can't tell what he will do. You also can't tell what will happen to you either. Don't hurry things up in you relationship because if you do so, sooner or later you will get bored with your relationship, believe me my dear. So please stop thinking these things and remember if he stops liking you, there are many other fish in the sea and not all blokes are cheaters hun.

I doubt he will stop thinking about you at all. Keep the emails going and before you know it he will be home.
My husband is in the army and for the first 10 months i only saw him every 3-4 weeks.
We are now married with 2 children!
You never know he could be the one!!
Stick at it! Good luck!

Don't know. Unless you are really serious about him, I mean without sounding too personal, gone to bed already, I would find something to take up my time, or move on. I know this doesn't help much, but when dealing with someone Else's feelings you must be care full. I have no way of knowing just how infatuated you are with this person or how far you have gone with this person, so it is hard to make any kind of judgment.

Take it 1 day at a time! You might meet someone in the next 2 months, or you might find you don't miss this guy at all.
He might not miss you or keep in touch.
But you know the old saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder"
Good luck.

Just see how it goes. If he stops emailing you whilst off shore then find someone else. Try not to worry about things in the future, take things day by day.

I would stay friends with this nice guy, but you don't know him well enough to stop your life for him. Come on you have only been with him for a bit over a week. If you are meant to be, you will not have control over that....it will just be.

A week's not long to be swearing undying love, but he said he's going to keep in touch, which is good. You may find that if you regularly write to each other by email, your relationship will develop anyway. But I'd also keep my options open if it were me.
