Why do so many christians jump on someone that pratices wicca and cast spells for protection and health and what not, telling them that they are in for a big surprize, that you cannot cast spells, and that it is a bunch of whoeeee. Yet feel perfectly comfortable dropping to their knees and praying which is basically the same thing. Both are using their desires to direct mental energy to accomplish a certain goal weither it be to have someone heal or gain strength. Whatever it might be, it is the same thing, just that they believe in diffrent gods or goddesses. I just thought this curious and thought mabe a christian could give me a reasonable answer. Please do not post that christ is the one true god and that I need to see the light... blah...blah.blah. That isn't what this is about. I just want to know why you feel that someone casting spells is hilarious yet prayer is perfectly acceptable.

No one really got what I was asking. Basically I just wanted to know why christians find wiccan rituals, like spell casting, hilarious and joke about them. When they pratice rituals, like prayer, that are very similar. Why is there no respect given to the other religions pratices? Guess I should have stated it more plainly.

I hate to spoil your game but most people just find the whole wiccan bs childish, silly and pretty pathetic when "practiced" (snicker) by anyone over 14 years old..........effing drama queens.

All religions seem to have the costume of rituals, so you can say that mankind creates Gods and Goddesses that require cults and rituals right?. In that sense, if you think about it, the image that people have of their creator are of fetishists Gods that need worship and rituals. I’m not saying God is a fetishist but the image humans create of Him is.

So I do agree with you, why is a pray different from meditating, or from a chant, a spell or a “magic” potion??

The concentration, intention and amount of energy and believe you have in a certain action is what I feel makes a difference; no matter what method you use…

We as Christians get bent out of shape when we hear the word "Witch". Unfortunately many people who call themselves Wiccan or Pagan are simply rebellious ex Christians who are more about opposing Jesus then they are about their spiritual life.
I was Wiccan for a couple of years and understand your point. If I had not had that experience, I would see spells as they are displayed by movies and the media because that would of been my only source.
Hope that helps.

why do wiccans believe they are Free of offence?
God declared that witchcraft is rebellion against him and Moses declared it is better to kill a witch than to suffer while allowing them to live.
If i pray to God, i have no power to cast a spell upon anyone. But if God acts upon my situation, it is his RIGHT to practice judgment and fulfill justice. Vengence is his, He will repay. NOT 3 times but ten times.
Then there is the small practice of wiccans calling themselves Healers. Oh yeah, poison someone with willow bark and condemn a person to sickness! worship a false god that is both male and female or none of the above and be guilty of Idolatry.
ok to prayer again! i know that prayer is considered similar to casting spells but i could disagree. as for curses and spells i know a person can be hurt through spells and curses. Anyone who would do these things deserve to get it back 3 times and 10 times. Jesus said Harm NO one and went to the cross without resistance

Yes, you can cast a "spell' to change yourself -- which is the same as prayer. But you can't change your or other people's circumstances by casting "spells". If you say I cast a "glamoury" for myself (which is really a self-assertion for good self-esteem in my opinion), I'll believe you. But if you say I wished someone bad/good and things changed -- I won't believe you.

In my opinion, your psychological state only affects you not others. Yes, there are people who believe that the universe is only a figment of our imagination and our thoughts are the only things that matter in the world but I am not one of them.

There is one major difference. One who prays for a particular need is trusting in God to sort out what is best and trusting in him to do what is according to his will knowing the answer may be no. And by the way spells are very real and do yield a result for many who practice such things. But at what cost? In the casting of spells your are your own God seeking to bring a result based on your own accumilated power thru ritual practice. In my humble oponion......

In Prayer we ask The One The Only God for help.In spells You are making a demand.

Its not the difference between spells vs prayer but the source of power behind them. The power behind prayer I believe is that of God Himself multiplied by what I have to faith to believe. The power behind spells I believe is demonic and can only lead to destruction.

Prayer is just about talking to God. I don't even kneel when I pray. I just talk to God as like I was talking to a friend because God is my friend and I don't have to do any stupid actions for him to hear me. I don 't just pray for health, actually I hardly ever do pray for health.

I did both. I tried both. Spells seem to work ALOT better. I think some people associate spells with Lucifer.
