That use to be true.. but since most McDonalds
went to unsaturated fats it is no longer true. When ever I eat fries at a Restaurant or Cafe
or fast food place I ask cause I'm a Vegetarian.
Usually someone behind me says something like U must be a Vegetarian.. Sometimes I get compliments on that and sometimes I get rude
remarks! I prefer Wendys to McDonalds! However if my friend I'm with prefers McDonalds we go there! no point in arguing!

McDonalds get their fries from JRSimplot in Idaho and no there are no animal products in the fries. The fries are cooked in veg. oil but that is changing at the end of this year to an oil with no trans fat.

Yes they do. The oil used to cook their beefs are recycled and used to deep fry the french fries to give it flavor. If it wasn't for the beef oil, McDonalds fries wouldn't taste the way they do.

Yes, they are pre-fried in beef fat and frozen to be shipped to each individual restaurant. At the McD's they are fried in veg oil. In india, they don't use beef fat at all due to local religion. You can google it if you want further info.

Yes, just recently they did use beef fat, however they no longer use it......as well as other fast food chains do not use beef fat in fries. I understand that KFC still use the bad fats in their foods. McDonalds as well as other food chains are trying to comply with FDA to keep foods somewhat healthier and reduce the mono and polyfats

They might... I would have guessed they used Vegetable Oil (I highly doubt they use Peanut Oil as someone else suggested considering the allergy to Peanuts. I've never seen a warning or disclaimer for it), but who knows with them. Then again, who knows with the Animal Right activists, either. They would make that accusation if there happened to be a spatula used to flip burgers that once fell into a vat of fry oil.

The "natural flvoring" in their fries comes from beef. SO no matter what they're cooked in, they're not vegetarian. (unless they've changed it recently).

There's also dairy and wheat in their fries (which was undisclosed until recently). I believe they are being sued by people allergic to wheat and dairy.

Not a very truthful company.
