angiography is the injection of dye into the circulation system to better view the vascularity of a certain area. it can be local to the heart or could be a limb.
MRI is an imaging system using a harmless magnetic field.
an EKG only gives you the rythym of electrical activity of the heart it has some diagnostic value but should not be the only means of evaluating a heart.
If your doctor is discusing these options with you I encourage you to ask questions and ask for written materials.
you should understand why, and the possible side effects and what benefical knowledge can be gained from each procedure.
Its your body. your temple, the doctor is their to advise.

Angiography is a procedure by which a docor can see the arteries supplying your heart. He will analyze the angiograph and can find out if there is a blockage in any artery.
MRI-Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a very advances technique that helps to see what is in your body.It is more useful than CT scan or X-ray,though it is expensive.
With an EKG/ECG you can find if there is any problem, but ECG is not an advanced diagnosing tool in many cases.ECG is just a basic tool.

MRI is to check up the whole body, depends on where do you need to get check. Ex: brain, to check for any stroke, tumour, aneurysm.
ECG only isnt enough. ECG can only record ur heart beat at that moment. Some heart disease patients only get heart beat changes only after they work out in a treadmill stress test.
Abnormal result will be called as ST segment depression, ur cardiologist will tell you if he see it.
If your treadmill stress test and echocardiography (ultrascan of the heart) results are normal; its very unlikely that you have to go for coronary angiography.
Coronary angiography are procedure of injecting a dye into your artery in your hand or leg to check your heart arteries. If you have 70% blockage or more, you have to go for PTCA (stenting-the cardiologist will blow ur blockage artery site and put a medication stent there to open it up)
Im a cardiac technician; i hope my information help

Go for a non invasive method known as 3 Dimensional Cardio Cartography which gives pysiology report of the heart consisting of about 11 pages. This is cheaper and takes about 30 minutes.

Nikki.... Angeo is the procedure to find out the blokages in heart (veins) it shows how much %age of blockages r thr.. 40%, 75%,90%.
MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) is the complete check up of our body . It is wise to have an Angeo of heart patients and furthur 2D echo or ne thng required.
