If I chewed gum 15 minutes prior to fasting blood work will it affect the results for glucose?

yes, and definatley if it has sugar in it!

Absolutely! Any time you put anything in your mouth,digestive enzymes are released that change the object to a sugar[unless it's protein-which also converts,and alters blood chemistry findings]. The sugar is swallowed in the form of saliva,and enters the bloodstream via the stomach. The result is immediate.
