A diabetic fracture is Charcoat foot.

This means you are unaware of your diabetic condition and as result you have swollen legs or an infection inside your legs.

The next stage is the swollen or the infection area develop numbness which is called neuropathy.

Then due to poor blood circulation the muscle surrounding the bone area dies slowly and exposing the bone. The bone too looses its strength and becomes brittle. Then sets in the gangerine. The bone now breks over like a biscuit .

You are not aware of all these things and after everything is over you rush to the doctor feeling absolutely NO PAIN.

The doctor then tells you have charcoat foot or as you call diabetic fracture and advise you to loose that part of limb or toe or leg to save you.

I am diabetic, but have never heard of a diabetic fracture, but then I haven't heard of everything. You may want to go to Search and look it up to find out if such a thing even exists. Good luck.

I did a quick search on line for you and all I found were articles discussing the issues diabetics have with healing a bone fracture and the effects insulin might have on it. "Diabetic fracture healing" saw a lot of hits and that's what they at least were talking about.
