My boyfriend had 4 stents placed in his heart at the end of October. His cardiologist told him not to drink alcohol at all. It is now Dec and he is drinking at least one glass of wine daily and has been binge drinking weekly for about a one month. What are the medical effects that could happen due to his denial? He is taking toprol-xl, blood thinner, beta blockers, benicar with a diruetic and probably some other heart medications.

Pray for him.
From what you've said, he sounds like someone that has a 'you can't live forever' look at life so 'what the f*ck, you may as well enjoy yourself as much as you can while you're here'.
This is the kind of question that you should go with your boyfriend and talk with an MD and pyschiatrist or pyschologist.
As I am not God and I am not a doctor of any kind, I don't know one way or the other what can or will happen to him.
He may have heard that a glass of wine daily is supposed to be good for the heart. That is, presumably a healthy heart.
Alcohol dimishes the effect of the drugs that the doctor has prescribed.
Not being a doctor, I don't know the long term effect; and not being God, I don't know IF there will BE a long term.
Not being God, I don't know if the medicine will or will not help; if the alcohol will or will not help.
However, I have heard of alcohol CAUSING heart problems including heart attacks.
Again, I am not God or a doctor of any kind.
