I read on the internet it's called kochijang or gochijang, something like that.

I searched online, and here's a blog description of where a Korean mart is:

"I bought mine from Dodo Club at Cineleisure Basement 1; there’s a korean minimart behind the cosmetics counter."

The hot sauce is called "goh-chu-jang" and it is made from Korean peppers, it is more akin to a paste than a sauce, though more things are sometimes added to it to make it a more runny mixture when added to bibimbap.

Here it is in Korean: 고추장.

There's actually a bottle sold by the company "Soon-chang" that is specifically bibimbap hot sauce. On the bottle it will say:

순창 (soon-chang)
비빔밥 (bibimbap)
고추장 (gochujang)

Servings: 4 gallons
Category: Sauce & Marinade
Ethnic Style: Korean


Ingredients:
15 cups dry rice (1/2 sweet rice, if desired)
10 pounds miso
2 pounds yellow soy bean flour
5 pounds, plus 40 ounces honey
2 1/4 cup salt
1 1/2 pound paprika
1/2 pound cayenne
3 cups soy sauce

Instructions:
Cook rice. Bake flour in 325F oven until lightly browned, about 1/2 hour. Stir often. Combine all ingredients. Stir down several times a day until it stops rising. Do not put in jars for at least a month. Refrigerate or put in freezer
