I've been tested like 2wice this year already, and negative. I haven't had sex since june. Is there still a chance of testing positive if I'm not sexually active at this time? Maybe I'm just being paranoid because I'm going for another test soon.

It isn't likely unless you are in a job with a high risk of exposure like a health care worker. HIV is not only transmitted by sex. It is also transmitted by blood and body fluids, but it has to have a portal of entry, like a cut or open sore, or a needle stick.

Yes. HIV can lie dormant in the body for a long long time before flaring up. Some people contract it in their 20's but don't show any signs (even on a blood test) until thier 60s or later. If you had sex with anyone who was HIV+ you could have gotten the virus from them (even if it doesn't show). But if you had protected sex only with people who for sure didn't have it, you should be fine.

The other ways to get it are through blood transfusions and sharing needles where blood/fluid is exchanged. (Also, if you did like a brother blood pact or something, you get the idea.)

HOWEVER, you can't get it from just touching a table where an HIV+ person was sitting, etc. It needs to be direct exchange of body fluids.

Why are you so worried? Were you in a relationship with someone who has HIV? You seem a little paranoid. If you are not having sex with someone who is positive, and you are not working somewhere with high exposure risks, then there is very little chance of contracting it.

absolutely....blood transfusions, and shared hypodermic needles among drug addicts.
