I have heard there is something that they do to your ear that is supposed to help you quit smoking. Does anyone know what it is called and where I can read up on it?

I believe the technique is called "ear stapling" and is a form of acupuncture.
Personally, I quit smoking by using candy and sunflower seeds as a placebo to give me something else to do. And this is after 20 years of 2-3 packs a day of Marlboro Reds. Not bragging, just using the best knowledge I have as an example. It can be done.
And I didn't really want to quit, either. I LIKED smoking. Enjoyed it -- It's just so unhealthy ... both for me and my kids.

My dad had some kind of injection in his ear once, that was apparently supposed to put so much nicotine in his system that he comepletely would stop smoking.

He paid 2000 dollars and the next day smoked a cigarette.

Dunno if thats what you were talking about though, it was a scam.

Acupuncture can be used to quit smoking; and there is a point in the ear lobe that is used to place the needle. Check your local acupuncturist office.

Yeah, they do acupuncture around the ear, and apparantly it helps you quit smoking!

Look in the phone book for your nearest accupuncturist and call them to find out!

They whisper in your ear that smoking is really bad for you... When they tell you like its a secret - your brain believes it more and you have a greater chance of quitting.
