I saw, online, a site where you can put in your sins, send it to a priest and then recieve a penance. Is that a true absolution? The site is www.onlineconfession.org. I'm a catholic.

Hey richbro, I'm catholic. I believe there was behind the words of Jesus: "Whoever sins you forgive are forgiven, whoever sins you RETAIN are reained." In order to retain a sin, you have to hear it first. And also note He said it only to His Apostles, of whom He also said to change bread and wine into His Body and Blood in memory of Him.(That's the Priesthood.)

The Code of Canon Law, Canon 964 states:

The proper place to hear sacramental confessions is a church or oratory. Confessions are not to be heard outside a confessional without a just cause.

To the best of my knowledge online confessions are not legitimate. Please be very careful.

With love in Christ.

That site is a waste of time.

You can go straight to the source, (Jesus), and get forgiveness of sins.

Acts 10:43
All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

Just pray to Jesus directly by faith and your sins are forgiven

James 5:15
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
