What are crabs?
Crabs (also called pubic lice) are small, wingless insects that infest pubic hair. Both men and women can get crabs.
What causes crabs?
Crabs are usually spread through sexual contact. They can also be spread through contaminated clothing and bedding.

What are the symptoms of crabs?
Symptoms, which usually appear within 5 days of being exposed, include itching in the groin area. The crabs look like small flakes of skin to the naked eye, but you can actually see the insects with a magnifying glass. You may also see white or gray dots in your pubic hair; these are louse eggs.

It is pubic lice. It is human lice that can only live on humans (not pets) bc their food source is human blood. The reason they are called "crabs" is if you look at lice under a microscope, they do indeed look like little crabs. Lice is contagious if come in contact with them or their clothing after a short time. The good thing is lice does not 'jump' nor do they live off the human body for very long.

Those that have it, need to get it medicated bc nothing will kill it except for special medicated shampoo.
