First either have each guest bring a small inexpensive gift (fit for either male or female) wrapped. ... encourage the silly or unusal. Or you can provide the gifts.. but each person must have a gift.
Ok now... make copies of the poem "A Visit From St. Nick" also known as The Night Be fore Christmas. Gather everyone , sit or stand in a circle , each guest holding a gift. Pass out the copies of the poem to each person or they can share.

EVERYONE TOGETHER recites the poem . Each time you say the word "and" you pass your gift to the person on your left. When done recting what ever gift in the guest hands they keep.

This has been a hit at any party Ive done this at. Some of the gifts recieved in the past include orniments, $ 3.70 in postage stamps and even a 5 gallon jar of dill pickels!!
Have fun... Vikki

If you search for bowtie christmas party games on google or yahoo you should get to a bowtieproducts site that will give you 4 new original games that will help make your nite fun.

For parties mixers like this work because they give folks something to do while they get warmed up to each other. if they want to talk, they can talk, but if conversatrion lags games like these take up the awkward silences that many of us dread.

Whats nice is that people don't all have to be in it to enjoy it. Some can just help out if asked or enjoy the groans of the answer section.

If links work in the answer blocks here's the link

there is also some party giving advice you may enjoy.

My wife and I made up the puzzles and many people really enjoy them.

I hope they work out well for you

Give each person a piece of paper and a pen.
have them list, in order, by asking around, the dates of hire for everyone in the room.
Make up sets of two characters, like Blondie and Dagwood, Bevis and Butthead, Batman and Robin. Write these on small pieces of paper; tape one of each to each player's back. People have to ask Yes or No questions only to figure out who is their partner. They step aside when they think they have found their matched set. The last two loose!

You could have a prize Bingo with inexpensive prizes like a bag of chips w/dip & a liter of soda. Dollar stores are great for cheap stuff to use as items.

Well You could play Find and Seek. where there are clues all over the office to find an item, employees could be set up in groups of 3 and then they will have clues to find something and the winner gets a prize.

Twister. or you could buy a christmas themed pinanta and put little prizes in it and blind fold people and they get a chance to take a wack at the pinanta. or you could play limbo.
