I am not sure about the rest of the Americas but here in the states we like foods form all over the world as well as our own brand of foods like hamburgers, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings (chicken broth with thick fat egg noodles), scrapple, fry bread ( Native American dish), Corn relish, corn soup, fried corn, corn mush, and lots of gravies!
Sweets? People of the US love sweets! My son used to go with a well traveled girl from another country an dI know form talking to her that most countries are much more conservative about sweets than the US. We will pile sugar on just about anything! We like sweet barbecue sauces on our meats, fruit pies topped with ice cream, pancakes topped with fruit in a sugar based syrup, sweet rice pudding, candied yams, cookies with icing in the middle dipped in sweet chocolate milk, sugared fruit wrapped in dough then deep fried, and much more! We will even take plain old white bread, spread it with butter and sprinkle sugar on the butter

Basically anything you can eat. America is called the big mixing pot, and that is no exception for food. We have food from all over the world. Steak, mashed taters with gravy, something green, a salad, and a soda pop is generally the American meal. Basically, Americans like chocolate as a sweet. Like I said, Americans will eat about anything, including myself.

Im from buffalo, we eat alot of wings, pizza, and italian food. We enjoy corned beef and cabage, pierogies, tacos, and well, alot of ethnic foods. One big thing here is chicken finger subs and chicken finger pizza. And you dont know good food untill you have had beef on weck or an anchor bar chicken wing. We have loganberry(Its a drink) and bison chip dip!!! Cant forget salehns hott dogs either!!
Sweets, well anything really. cake and cookies, canolies and cheesecake. Sweets are good all the time and on anything!!

Most typical Americans eat a lot of americanized ethnic foods- we eat italian food that doesn't taste like food in italy and mexican food that doesn't taste like anything in mexico. I've never actually been to asia but from watching Iron Chef I assume our chinese food is less than authentic. I think the most amercan foods are like meatloaf and casseroles- I think those are things we actually made up here. My fave foods are tacos and mac & cheese and veggies like spinach and broccoli and my fave sweets are oatmeal cookies and banana splits

typical american food? i'm not even sure... but I love brazilian churrasco! But yeah, I'm not even sure what's typical here anymore. We have so many mixtures and many cultures and it is hard to tell what's really typical from here.

I have no idea what you wrote. We enjoy spaghetti, tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, tossed salads and for dessert- cream cheese cake, apple pie ala mode, peach cobbler, vanilla ice cream.
