I'm not sure if you're asking about eating cats or eating cat food.
But I will answer both... NO it does not taste like Chicken. It taste like rabbits. As to the cat food. It can taste like beef or chicken and assorted other animals since that is what it is made of.

Cat is just another white meat. I find it a bit sweet, (depends on its diet I guess) but if you adjust your seasoning, it comes out just fine, it bears a close affinity to rabbit in size and texture. As for cat food, (any pet food actually) the manufacturing standards are probably greater than human food. I know for a fact that pet food plants have a very strict hygiene code not found in most people food manufacturing.

My son INSISTED on eating dried dog food every time my back was turned when he was about 3 years old. Thankfully he has outgrown that.
The canned food is probably safer than the dry variety, but I don't think either one will hurt you. As far as taste, you probably could make a nice appetizer out of the canned type. :-) But I'm not volunteering to do a taste test, either!

Cat food as well as dog food is heat treated or pasteurized in case some little old lady gets mixed up and eats it. As for cat its a dark meat and I imagine it would be tough and chewy. Best followed with a red wine
