The one I had for breakfast this morning had 174 - but I think it was rather more holey than usual. I think the average is something around the 120 mark - but I can't find any supporting evidence for this to back me up.

Depends upon the ages of the baking powder... but the standard is considered somewhere between 300-350.

Well, either two or three, depending on your personal crumpet preferences. Omly one results in baby crumpets :)
