Absolutely. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease. STD's don't care about gender, race, age or social class. Men can be infected and carry it, and can develop anal or penile cancer from the virus, although it is less common than cervical cancer in women.
The HPV virus causes flat warts that cannot be seen with the naked eye. You can then give them to your partner: male or female.
The only way to prevent from getting or spreading HPV is to not have sex or sexual contact. If you can't do that, then at least practice safe sex with people who have been tested for STD's.

Totally. Also it doesn't even require sexual contact to pass to each other. Perhaps 60% of the population carries it. It causes genital and anal warts and cancer in both men and women. Western Med says it can't be treated, but it is treated successfully (in my experience) with India with neem, turmeric, wormwood, blackwalnut and arbor vitae.
