There are many anti-arrythmic medications and sometimes it is necessary to try them to come up with the right one or combination for your problem.

If this is an arrhythmia that originates from the top or middle of your heart then it is possible to do an ablation treatment. An electrophysiologist tracks the pathway where the aberrant beat is coming. He/she them uses a laser to ablate the pathway. Sometimes it is necessary to ablate the natural pathway and pick up the rhythm with a pacemaker. As you can imagine, medications are trialed initially. Additionally it makes sense to put all of this in context. If your heart function is severely limited by these arrhythmias then your cardiologist is going to be more aggressive in treating them. On the other hand if you are simply having palpitations and able to go about your daily activities then it might be less of a concern to fix.

No one wants to perform an invasive procedure unless it is absolutely indicated.

I am not sure what you can do. One good way is start walking, every day if possible for an hour. I heard it does work. Read here some suggestions:

What's the treatment?
Treatment depends on the type of arrhythmia you have. Some mild arrhythmias require no treatment. Other arrhythmias can be treated with medicines. If another health problem is causing the arrhythmia, treatment is aimed at taking care of that problem. In more serious cases, other treatments are available:

An artificial pacemaker is an electronic device placed under the skin on the chest. It helps the heart maintain a regular beat, especially when the heart beats too slowly.
Cardiac defibrillation (very brief electric shock) can be used to stop an abnormal rhythm and restore a normal one.
Surgery can correct certain types of arrhythmias. For example, arrhythmias caused by coronary artery disease may be controlled by bypass surgery. When an arrhythmia is caused by a certain area of the heart, sometimes that part of the heart can be destroyed or removed.

First and most important is to know what arrhythmia you want to treat. There are different treatments for different arrhythmias, some arrhythmias do not need any treatment. One must understand the heart has rhythym to it and any change in this rhythym is called an arrhythmia. So please let me know which arrhythmia you are concerned about to better answer your question
